Ocicat

Skupina Code
3 OCI

The Ocicat belongs to the group of shorthaired cats with agouti-factor (spotted pattern). Cats of this breed display the look of athletic animals. The Ocicat is a well muscled, solid cat, graceful and lithe. At maturity, it weighs five to seven kilos. The head is gracefully set on the curved neck. The skull forms a modified wedge shape with a slight curve from the muzzle to the cheeks, with a visible, but gentle rise from the bridge of the nose to the eyebrows. The chin is strong, with firm and strong jaws. Ears are of medium size, attentively pricked. When the ear tufts are present, they extend vertically from the tips of the ears and they are considered as an advantage. Ears are set at a 45 degree angle. Eyes are large, almond in shape, angled slightly upwards towards the ears. The distance between the eyes is wider than the length of the eye. All eye colours are permissible, except blue. There is no relation between eye colour and coat colour. However, intensively clear colour is preferred. Legs are of medium length, well shaped, well muscled and powerful. The tail is fairly long in proportion to the body, tapering to the tip. The coat is short, smooth, with a satiny texture and lustrous sheen. It is dense and close lying. The markings on the head are the same as for all other spotted cats. Round patches run along the spine from the shoulder blades to the tail. Spots are scattered across the shoulder and on the hindquarters, extending as far as possible down the legs. Surprisingly large, well-scattered thumbprint-shaped spots appear on the sides of the torso (one spot circled by other spots - so-called bull's eye).
