Persian

The Persian cat is a large or medium sized cat. The head is round or massive, with good proportions, with a blunt nose and a very wide skull, on a short thick neck. The forehead is rounded and noticeably domed, cheeks are massive and full. Eyes are large, round and open, placed wide apart. Their colour must be shiny, striking and corresponding to the rules for individual colour varieties. However, it always has to be a pure colour. The nose is short, wide, with a noticeable stop, but not snub. Ears are placed very wide apart and situated very low. They are small, with rounded tips, with considerable tufts of hairs inside the auricle. The body is thickset, short, angular and cobby, set on short legs closed by wide and round footpads, with a wide chest. Shoulders and back are massive and well muscled. The legs are short, solid and strong. Footpads are big, round and firm. Between the toes there are rich tufts of hair. The tail is short and richly furred. The coat is long and heavy, soft with a silky texture (not woolly), thicker around the shoulders and chest.
